In fact, what I do for me, affects my efficiency and effectiveness in helping others. I have to stand accountable not only for what I have done for others, but what I have done for me. Success for me is the quality of life that I live. Success for me is not just in accolades won, remuneration received, people served with excellence and general achievements. My relationship with God is closer than it has ever been, and as a mother, I am feeling a lot more secure in the 5 solid years I have invested in my child. Yes, I am adding myself to my own to do list. I am now making the choice to add me to my own to do list again. I made the choice to put certain things first in my life. Yet, as a person, I have paid the ultimate price. At one point I was homeschooling for two whole terms! Each day I did the best I could and in many ways, I accomplished things I still don’t know how I managed to (the grace of God being especially obvious during those times). Throw in ridiculously high stressful environments (moving is right up there with terminal illness in the scale of life’s most stressful situations and we moved entire households, countries and hemispheres) a lack of support systems, relationship trauma, relocating businesses in three countries with different markets and demographics, creating a new family brand for my family farm, expatriate re-location issues and navigating parenting a young child and everything pretty much goes out of whack. We jump between our kids and a gunman without second thought or care for self-preservation. I knew how to leap, and I had a life full of major leaps, yet I was challenged with landing on four feet like a cat with 9 lives or sticking my landing as elite gymnasts learn to do after ridiculous leaps and tumbles.Īs a mother, who is invested in her child, when resources are limited, we lay down ourselves for our children. But after a while… even healthy patterns can become problematic. And having been a daring risk taker, I have taken copious leaps throughout my life. I did not learn how to hold on to transformation in the midst of major life transitions. You see I knew how to start and maintain transformation through momentum. It was a brilliant programme, and saw me vividly blossoming inside and out. I created an amazing coaching programme for myself and set about the most important journey of my life. I knew that even though I had many roles to play to many different groups of people and many ways in which I was serving them, when resources are limited, you must put on your own oxygen mask first. I knew that I had to find ways to interrupt my own unhealthy patterns and pursue the fullness of the life I truly wanted to live. Four years ago, I added two professional coaching certifications to my belt. Talk about occupational hazard! As Jamaican expats in Dubai, then Ras Al Khaimah (7 and 11 years respectively in the UAE), then a few months stop home on route to Aruba, we have moved A LOT and had lots of challenges like everyone else. The occupational hazards of us being professionals at the top of our game in food did not help. Over the years, we have been on again, off again on our way of eating. Granny knew what those who promoted low fat diets did not know. Granny knew that too many mangoes in mango season, too much cake and rice and other carbohydrate rich and sugary foods would lead to the need for shape wear and eventually clothes not fitting. We had weight to lose and I knew as a seasoned journalist that eating low carb was actually one of the healthiest eating lifestyles… a fact that was proven by science and wisdom of our forebears. I own over 300 cookbooks, but no longer purchase them - but regularly print out recipes to try later. When I am not cooking, I am busy household of 6 and going to the gym (to work off the wonderful calories I consumed the day before) and helping at school and church. My philosophy in life is: as we have to eat, we may as well eat well.If you have been following this blog since January 2011 when it first went live, you know that the whole concept that I developed from 2010 was all about two people (a 7 star hotel chef and me the journalist and marketer wife) on a low carb, epicurean journey. I have been married for 14 years and have one very happy and well fed hubby. My goal is to try one new recipe a week, for the past 8 years have achieved this. I have a severe egg allergy and am lactose intolerant, I enjoy working out ways to still enjoy food minus eggs and milk. I'm a stay at home mum of four aged: 10, 8, 7 and almost 6. My Poppy has long since passed, but I fondly remember him every time I log on. As a toddler, my nic-name was Pompom (my Poppy had a golf hat with a pompom and it was one of my first words, and it stuck as my nic name).

An example is the navigation menu in the A Festival Event theme. These data-attributes and their values can be accessed by JavaScripts to create richer, more engaging user experiences. With HTML 5 came the possibility to assign custom data to (HTML) elements. The order of applied settings can be changed by moving the background property boxes up or down. The use of these controls is straightforward, simply Add an Image or Gradient and set the desired CSS property values. With a bit of practice this can be used to create cool effects, such as overlays on images as can be seen in the A Festival Event theme. For now, let’s look at two more places where Foundation Framer has additional power compared to Responsive Site Designer.ĬSS3 allows web designers to specify multiple backgrounds, images and gradient, on a single element. In case a variation of a symbol is needed, a specific page could have a slightly different footer for example, the symbol can be unlinked and will not be affected by updates to other instances.īoth components and symbols make creating and maintaining websites a whole lot smoother and we have big plans for further developments here, so stay tuned. Using the arrow keys you can navigate to each instance of the symbol. The symbol control includes a preview function and shows how many instances of the symbol are currently used in the project. The footer or menu symbol will than be updated everywhere it has been placed. Using the symbol functionality a link edit, text tweak, or even a content restructuring only needs to be done in one place. Website modules (components) such as footers and navigation menus are frequently the same across all pages. A change to a symbol item will globally update all instances of the symbol, whether located on the same page or any other pages of the project. Symbols represent linked elements of groups of elements. Toggle classes or visibility of elements by simply adding a data-attribute and / or value on the design pane, and the sky’s the limit! Using the ‘Toggler’ included in the Foundation 6, all types of custom interactive components can be created as well. The included themes come with theme specific variations and customizations of these components, such as a ‘tab-image-gallery’. These handy components speed up the design or prototyping process and are easy to customize. Componentsįoundation Framer comes with a bunch of pre-built components - website building blocks such as responsive navigation menus, modal dialogs, tab systems and more. It also has JavaScript plugins so you can add interactive components for navigation, slideshows, toggles, and much more without the hassle of external libraries. This app is beloved because it is powered-up with custom breakpoints, pre-built components, and symbols for global content updates. However, Foundation Framer boasts some pretty big differences as it is based upon Foundation 6, one of the most popular open source front end frameworks, created by the talented people of Zurb. The code-free interfaces of Responsive Site Designer and Foundation Framer share many similarities. Row Garden LayoutĪ row garden layout is also a rectangular shape with rows of vegetables going horizontally and vertically. The downside to a grid garden layout is that you’ll have to spend more time watering since there are so many rows, which can be inconvenient if you don’t live close enough to your vegetable patch. If they didn't work, the whole game would fall apart. It all comes back to those zombies though. There are ridiculously powerful weapons to craft for the dedicated and determined, and there are safehouses to secure, random events to respond to, and human enemies to fight. And then there's scavenging for resources, which encourages diversions and ill-fated trips into abandoned pharmacies and restaurants. They appear on your minimap, with vision cones, which tips you off that there's a stealth game slathered on top of the parkour and pulverising game you were playing during the daylight hours. At night, there are horrible creatures, Volatiles, that hunt for you. They also have interesting behaviours, those zombies, from the confused stumblings of the mobs that just seem so tired of unlife, to the disruptive melee and ranged assaults of special viral types. They break into pieces and react to different kinds of attack – flame, blade, blunt, electric – and that is satisfying, as far as these things go. At its most basic, it's a zombie-killing simulation.
